It started with Uncle Paul’s dream to ride cross country on his bicycle. He knew there would be long hours alone spanning miles of asphalt.  There would be mountains, desert, and wind, and times he would have to dig deep pedaling with depleted legs.  In search of a spark that would fire him up to get through the tough spots, he found his inspiration, his nephew Maxx.  State by state, Paul is raising awareness and funds for research for those that endure the challenges of Prader-Willi Syndrome.

It gets better…

Uncle Bill is helping the cause by keeping Paul safe, helping with equipment, and driving the SAG wagon.  On Wednesday, April 24th, Uncle Tom sent them on their way from the edge of the Pacific Ocean in San Diego.

Larry will meet up with Paul and Bill next week.  When Uncle Bob heard what Paul and Larry were doing, he said “I’m in!”  They are joining Paul, to help get him through the flat, monotonous, central states.  Uncle Bob continues his longtime support of FPWR by also riding to raise awareness and funds for PWS research.

We are grateful for all of Maxx’s Uncle’s, his whole family, and our friends for embracing Maxx and years of supporting FPWR and their mission.

Living with Prader-Willi Syndrome is difficult.  Although today there is no medicine, surgery, or therapy to eliminate the challenges of PWS, we are confident continued research is on the path to find a cure.  The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research has implemented a strategic plan to accelerate research and the development of therapies.

In honor of Uncle Paul and Uncle Bob’s efforts, please consider making a donation to FPWR.
