Charlie's Angels

Help us help Charlie overcome the challenges of Prader-Willi Syndrome by funding crucial research!

Our very own Charlie is now a Freshman in high school (!), and he settled beautifully at Oakton High School. The Oakton HS community has welcomed him, and he has dutifully "trained" them to do things for him, just the way he likes them! To those who think non-speaking kids can't think or communicate, he is definitely proving them wrong. In addition to school, Charlie belongs to two Special Olympics Swim Teams (thank you Wahoos and Cougars!), has tried his hand at Special Olympics Basketball and KEEN weekend activities, and joined the Best Buddies Club at school. He also attends "Spell to Communicate" sessions that will help him communicate more easily and fluently.

Charlie is living his best life, but there is much that could be done to help him overcome the challenges he faces because of Prader-Willi Syndrome, such as never-ending hunger, rigid and OCD behaviors, impulse control and more. Charlie already benefits from Oxytocin treatment thanks to past research, and we are looking for more treatments and therapies to help further.

You can learn more about PWS and the research that is underway at http://www.fpwr.org.

Please become one of Charlie's Angels and donate now!

Thank you for your support year after year, it means the world to us!
