Thank you for visiting Fisher's fundraising page! Fish has Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and we are taking One SMALL Step to help raise funds for a promising new treatment that may REDUCE DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIORS!! As most of you know, we lost the Carbetocin trial, the drug he's been on for three years, the first of June and since then behaviors have been more frequent and more violent. I caught a glimpse of what Fisher can achieve and do when he was on that medicine and I desperately want that boy back.
Fisher is 15 and he continues to struggle with many aspects of how PWS affects him, but the behavior challenges are still the most difficult challenge for him at times. It affects our entire family and can be very difficult to manage. We are thankful for ANY amount, big or small ($5 !! or $500 !!) that you can donate to exciting new research into external Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) to help Fish and others living with PWS.
The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research is currently working to fund a VNS research project that I am hopeful that Fish can be a part of. This project may lead to this new treatment being available to and helping those with PWS who struggle with behavior challenges. A small study was very promising in reducing disruptive behavior in individuals with PWS. We are hopeful!!
