The current situation with COVID-19 means that a physical One Small Step walk in Washington DC cannot take place this year. But that does not mean that we cannot continue to raise awareness and donations for Prader Willi Syndrome and The Foundation for Prader Willi Syndrome research.
It is hard to believe that Alice is closing in on 8 years old! She has a thirst for knowledge and a love for life. She loves to read and do yoga! She cannot wait to get back to therapeutic horse-riding and Special Olympics Gymnastics when it is safe to do so.
At the moment we are working on strategies to divert her attention when she starts to pick her lips or fingers. She knows that she shouldn't do it but it is impulsive and Alice often starts doing it without realizing. In Speech Therapy Alice is currently focusing on 'L', 'S' blends and verb endings. It can be really tough to pronouce all the sounds, particularly when the words have multiply syllables. OT and PT also continues at home whilst we are keeping our 'social distance'!
Thank you for supporting Alice and the Foundation for Prader Willi Syndrome Research (FPWR)
